LymeNet is all about forming connections, whether you are a visitor, a resident, or a worker, or a business in the wider Lyme Regis area. We help connect people to new work opportunities, to housing, to social and leisure activities, or to friends and family. We help to improve business efficiency and opportunity.
We do this by providing courses and training, support and advice, IT facilities, and business office services.
Because we are a 'not for profit' organisation supported by grant aid we can also afford to tailor our services to many types of individual need which other advice, training and support organisations would find difficult.
We pride ourselves on 'going the extra mile'.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
As well as being local to Lyme Regis (unlike other IT based education places) we tailor our courses to the needs of our customers as far as we can. This means we are far more flexible in our approach than other education providers, we have small classes with plenty of individual attention.
Even at the internet café we can offer some support and assistance if you are having problems with what you need to do. And because we are a charitable body our rates are competitive, with some services free.
We rely on external funding to support learning activities at the centre.
LymeNet is a part of the Lyme Regis Development Trust, (see www.lrdt.co.uk) which is a registered charity based in the same building, with rentable office space. As we operate a Resource Centre we also have in the same building the Citizens Advice Bureau, Credit Union, Job Club, and Food Bank.
